| 15 Jun 2005 | Anneke Hut | Loading...Rachel, what a great collaboration! Was this hand made after your Talon? What material is it made of? I love your colouring. Rachel Zyden Beaconsfield replies: "Yes, it was made after my drawing, which Mavis used as a reference, carved completely from wood (I think she used poplar for the palm/fingers, and yellowheart for the talons, but don’t hold me to that ^^’) She gave it a white base-coat before shipping it off across the Atlantic to me, and I have to say there was nothing more awe-inspiring than taking it out the box; though I was petrified I might ruin it while giving it a paint job. She did another hand carving for Sam prior to this one which she painted herself: http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/art/a/m/amity/kararosefullsized.jpg.html I would *kill* something cute and fuzzy for these kind of skills." | |
